Books, Periodicals, Newspapers
The Decatur Public Library's collection includes over 240,000 volumes plus 640 magazine and newspaper subscriptions. Books include popular and practical topics in non-fiction as well as classic and contemporary fiction. Past issues of the Decatur city newspapers, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal are available on microfilm.

Audiovisual Materials
Videocassettes, audio cassettes, books-on-tape, compact discs, and CD-ROM software are available for checkout.

Vertical File
Maps, travel brochures and other materials are located in file drawers on the library's lower level.


Government Documents:

Books, pamphlets, magazines and other periodicals, microfiche and CD-ROMs make up the physical depository collection housed at the Decatur Public Library.
In addition to the documents in print, microform or CD-ROM sent to depository libraries, the federal government makes available a large amount of information via the Internet.
